Reasor’s Helps Kickoff the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign

Posted on November 4th, 2019

Every year the Christmas season brings many traditions, and one familiar sight is the cheery Salvation Army bell ringers collecting change in bright red kettles. The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Fundraiser will kick off this year on Friday, November 8th at the Bixby Reasor’s location. On this day, Reasor’s will match all donations from 10:30 am to 7 pm, up to $5,000. Salvation Army bell ringers will be at 15 Reasor’s locations, excluding Tahlequah and Langley, through December 24th.

Last year on kick off day $8,682.26 was collected at Reasor’s stores which earned The Salvation Army the $5,000 Reasor’s kettle match.

“The Tulsa Salvation Army will help over 2,700 families over the holidays,” said Major Mark Harwell, local area commander of The Salvation Army. “Those 2,700 families’ means nearly 11,500 people of all ages will receive assistance this Christmas with gifts and food,”

In keeping up with technology The Salvation Army will be offering a Tap & Go method of donating at a kettle.  Thanks to Apple & Google Pay donations can be made at the iconic red kettles this year. You will be able to scan or bump the familiar Apple/Google Pay signs to make a donation.
